    Ray, you are like the Mr Roger's neighborhood of gardening videos. The Mr Ray's Gardenhood if you will. I hope retirement suits. Gotta say even after two years, I still miss seeing you and the animals and the gardening results. I especially remember the turkeys that followed you like amorous puppies. Do you still keep birds of all types. Perhaps one day you'll pop up a few dozen pictures of your place and your animals and gardens, etc. I know you didn't have close neighbors in your neighborhood, but we were your neighbors, Mr. Ray. Have a beautiful day in your neighborhood.

    I realized you haven't come up on my feed in a really long time and came to check out what you were up to. My daughters and I would watch you all the time when they were growing up. My youngest is now 20 and what made me think of you is when I was standing in the back yard looking at the huge garden she has grown and all the landscaping she has done around the house. Know you have left a mark on many lives and you are loved. <3 Thank you for all the information and videos.

    Good afternoon, Ray. Writing to you from beautiful middle of nowhere downtown Maine. Deep blue cloudless sky, light breeze and a dry 86 degrees. Was catching up on my notifications and came across one called, The Easiest Gardening Method You've Never Heard Of..., or Chaotic planting. Which immediately reminded me of your seed bombs. It's been awhile since I checked in, and here you are. Great to see you. And Thank You for the link to Sarahsseedshop. Your tradition of making growing veg, at a reasonable price, lives on. Speaking of seeds, I was going through my Prax seed box Spring of last year and found a few Prax Cherry's and Pusa Jwala peppers. No idea how old they were and planted some. Wow, 100% germination. Restocked the Prax Cherry seed nicely, and Pusa's, well they went berserk in September. Enough so, we dried and ground up enough to fill an 8oz spice jar, and 1/2 fill a prescription bottle of seeds. Even a friend of ours from India said, "WHOOO, This will do" lol Her mild curry would peel paint off a bumper! My favorite video was when your neighbor had met his demise. I don't have a sick sense of humor, it's more so evidence of your great ability to tell a story. Wow, 14 years ago and I was hooked! Here's hoping you are safe, well, and smiling my friend, and please say Hi to Mike. Mark n Rosa

    I miss you Ray.. You’ve played such a big role in me growing up, watching you thrive and bloom in your garden. Even being a teenager, spending a day with you, Mike and the animals in the garden sounded like the most perfect day and now being 34, I still feel that way. I know it’s been a while now since you retired and I hope you are happy. When things go bad in life, right now I’m at a very low point in life after a devastating relationship and the breakup, I still find myself seeking calmness and safety in coming back to your videos. I don’t know if you realize just how much you have given us. It has always been so much more than just gardening videos. Thank you so much for everything Ray ❤

    Hi Ray, I watched your video on raising Christopher the robin. I am in a similar situation. I do have experience in hatching chicks and goslings with my incubator. I have a few questions for you, if you wouldn't mind, regarding the first few days of a robin hatchling. Thank You.

      Ask away Michel. I'll give you the best info I have. :)

    • @mmichel18
      @mmichel18 2 месяца назад

      Great, thank you. Is there a better way to ask, maybe an email address? For now, I'll write them here. 1. When they first hatch in the incubator, should I leave them in there for up to two days(as I can do with the chicks til they're dry and fluffy). I do realize they're born featherless, and their eyes are closed, but I imagine they would have the yolk to continue to absorb like a chick can for the first couple days, before they need food) 2. Should I set them in a 'nest' in the incubator once they start to pip? I'm worried about their little legs getting caught in the grate in the incubator. Or maybe I should line the grate with paper towel, so they don't get caught 3. Once out of the incubator, how warm do they need? Should they be under a heat lamp? (With chicks, they can move away from the heat source if needed. These hatchlings won't be able to at first, as they're going to be pretty helpless) 3. How small do their food morsels need to be the first while? Would mom 'chew' it first or give it whole? Those are my main questions for now.

    • @Praxxus55712
      @Praxxus55712 2 месяца назад

      An incubator is ok, but place a small comfy sock or something semi-bowl shaped to keep them cozy and upright. Also, reduce the temp 10 degrees. After 1 day begin feeding them tiny pieces of worm around the size of a piece of rice. Each time you feed them, make small "psst" sounds and gently tap the nest to get them to open their mouths. You just shove the food in their mouths with a tweezer. Feed them as often as they'll eat. The feedings are around every hour or so. Nothing else, not even water. Worms supply all they require. Each time you feed them, they will hike up their butt and poop. You need to gently grab it from them with tweezers and toss it. After a week, they can be out of the incubator at room temp. They generate enough heat. Bean sized worms at that time. After 2 week, they'll be scarfing down small whole worms left and right. You can email me at praxxus55712@gmail.com. Have fun with your new peeps! :)

    • @mmichel18
      @mmichel18 2 месяца назад

      Wow! Thank you for all that information. They haven't hatched yet, so I have been doing all the research I can to be prepared to give them the best start possible when they get here. I will save your email so I can give you updates and ask any other questions I have as they come up.

    Hey Ray! Hope retirement is going well and that you're enjoying life! Just wanted to stop by and drop a short little thank you message. I won't make this super super long but it's fair to say your channel literally changed the course of my life. It was about maybe 12 years ago when 10-year old me stumbled across your channel after some activities at school got me interested in gardening. I would spend hours just sitting behind the family computer or the new fangled ipad watching your videos. For the next few years following that, growing plants and gardening became my thing, and even though I lived in a small apartment I was able to grow tomatoes, okra, carrots, lettuce, a strawberry (i bought the plant but took care of it) and so many others I can't even recall them. And even made my own version of your compost tea from old eggshells and banana peels that stunk to high heck and my mom would always yell at me for but the plants loved. In my teenage years though my interest sorta waned, and I even recall coming over to your channel a few times to leave nonsensical or trolling and even if those days are long gone and you probably don't remember them, I'd like to say sorry about that. Nevertheless, your channel gave me a life-long interest in plants and biology in general. Especially the way you would repeatedly describe how organic fertilizers worked, where you would be feeding the soil microbes and the whole ecosystem living in the dirt that then feeds your plants. Just last year I graduated from a biotech degree and am currently 8 months into my first job in the field looking into probiotics and things like that. I still have no idea what I'll pursue like most young adults. Research into cancer or becoming a teacher seem the most appealing (if I end up choosing the latter I'd like to borrow your style of teaching if you don't mind haha), but recent events have brought be back to gardening and rediscovering the goldmine of your channel. Boy, a lot has changed since then but planting seeds and setting the pots on my windowsill made me feel like a kid again. Thanks Ray for making me who I am today. Hope you have a good day and many more!

I remember watching your channel for the first after lookng for a video through hot peppers then i started to watch for other grow tips and finally, jus watched every single video just hang around with you. Though i find it kind of weird as we never met but i consider you a friend ! So like any old friend would do, i am just stopping by, hoping to get some news from you and hoping you are still happy in your farm with mike and the pets. Much love ray, David

      Best of luck with your garden seed shop Sarah! I I figure many gardeners who enjoyed my Little Shop of Seeds will love your seed quality and prices. 75 cents is the best price I've seen for seeds. Best of success to you! www.sarahsseedshop.com
